Sherwood Cattle Company
The Sherwood Cattle Company, established in 1984, was originally in Nebraska. Currently we are located in Albany MO (about an hour and a half north of Kansas City). The ST Brand which has been established throughout the industry for many years stands for Sherwood Tradition.
Over the years we have been blessed to own greats like, Maximus ST, Iron Mike ST, Freight Train ST, and Woodrow ST. Our current herd sire is Black Hawk a Top Caliber son out of Top Model. We expect this young bull to continue in the tradition of great bulls. Out of this tradition we have produced great bulls like Rodeo Max ST (currently owned by DCCI) WSR Slick Rick 88 (Vincent Girolamo), and Cowtown ST.
We have also produced great cows like; Max’s Red Rose (Craft Ranch), Miss Husker ST (Sherwood Cattle Company), Esmeralda ST (Kurt Twining), Pixie ST (G and G), Black Eyed Peas ST (Miller Ranch) Bling ST (Cliff Hanger Genetics), Meadow Lark ST (Bow Carpenter) Black Diamond ST ( Vincent Girolamo).
We’ve had the privilege of owning Peach Brandy ST (Davis Green), Rialito Chic ST (Rocking J Longhorns), Winter Range ST (Briscoe Longhorns) and Delta Gem 57 as well as many others.
It has been an honor to belong to the TLBAA and the TLMA over the years and to work with their programs. It has also been an honor to meet and work with some of the greatest people in the longhorn industry. We have formed great memories and hope to make many more in the future.
Today the Sherwood Cattle Company is owned by myself (Gregg M. Sherwood) and my son Logan C. Sherwood. We will strive to continue the tradition of great conformation, great color, great mothers, quiet temperaments, and of course extremely large horns.
Our foundational thoughts are, if we don’t have a mother cow than can calve early and every year, have an exceptional mammary system, be extremely sound, even tempered, and be pretty to look at, then we don’t have a program. We will strive continually to breed these types of cattle.
